IP 68 Outdoor Connections

STEP 1: Clamp connector pin on Light Tape®, one connector per electrode. Test connection with small power supply before placing on black protective caps.

STEP 2: Place connector cap over top Light Tape® and use screws to mechanically secure cover over connection.

STEP 3: Hang the Light Tape® perpendicular to the ground. Slowly fill connector cap with recommended potting compound to seal connection (allow time to settle after each small squeeze).

STEP 4: Repeat procedure for termination cap if factory seal has been cut and removed from free end.

STEP 5: Place UL rated gasket material, such as clear VHB tape or similar materials, next to connector caps or clear end caps to prevent abrasion between extrusion.

STEP 6: Gently feed Light Tape® into extrusion utilizing rear access slot. Be careful not to fold or kink material. Use a popsicle to help open slot if too tight.

STEP 7: Slide shrink tubing over connector and strain relief. Be careful not to get too close to lamp when heating with heat gun. You want to soften material but not melt lamp.
