For more than 50 years, the South Shore Room at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe has been treating guests to fantastic live entertainment. It offers an intimate venue for live shows, including rock legends, blues, country, and magic shows. After decades of wear and tear, it was time to replace the stair nosings, upgrade the space’s ambiance, and ensure they complied with lighting regulations.
How Did South Shore Pick the Right Stair Lighting for Their Space?
The South Shore Room’s stair nose lighting was decrepit and no longer working. It was important to South Shore to upgrade the lighting and enhance the visual appearance while creating a safe environment for guests.
Harrah’s picked the StepGuard Max Duo for a few reasons. First, it was the most visually appealing. The ice blue color of the Light Tape matched perfectly with the venue’s theme. Additionally, Light Tape is compliant with United States Emergency Egress Lighting Regulations for stair lighting and the low profile is ADA compliant meaning there is no trip hazard.
Installing the Stair Nosings
Zephyr Electric Sign Co. installed the step lighting for Harrah’s and did a great job.
There was a mishap the day before the keys needed to be turned over to the venue and a new section of Light Tape was needed to complete the installation. Harrah’s contacted Light Tape before closing and we worked with them after hours to overnight the necessary section needed to finish the project. The South Shore Room project was able to stay on schedule and finish on time.
Harrah’s shared with the Light Tape team that they are “very happy with the product” noting that it “solved the problem we set out to fix perfectly.”
